F-Gas Regulations

There have been major changes to the industry these past few years. 

The most important deadlines occurred in 2009/2010  and are related to certification of companies and to the phase-out of virgin R22. 

After 4th July 2009 the F Gas Regulation required all companies involved in the installation, servicing or maintenance of air con equipment containing F Gases to hold a Company Certificate. 

For the mobile air conditioning technicians. We deliver the City & Guilds 7548-01 previously known as the 5101 Certificate in Mobile Vehicle Air Conditioning Systems.


Level 3 Award in Basic Mobile Air Conditioning (7548) meets minimum requirements of Regulation (EC) 307/2008

Any technician must now be qualified to work on 
Mobile Air Conditioning systems, failure to have adequate qualifications can lead to excessive fines as set out by the Environmental Protection Agency


Legislative and organisational requirements and procedures.
Operating principles and functional requirements including environmental and legal requirements.
Health & Safety/Environmental requirements.
Environmental issues.
Legislation and regulations
Use and application of special purpose tools, equipment and materials needed for system recovery.
Identification, recovery and charging
Leak detection
Safe disposal and recycling

1 hour practical task and verbal questions

Prior Knowledge
Basic mechanical knowledge and skills but no formal qualifications are necessary
