ABOUT US
Beckton Skills Centre
is a community-based charity working to improve the prospects of disadvantaged
young people regardless of race, culture, gender, disability, socio-economic
standing, religion or belief.
We work in partnership with schools and other training providers to offer bespoke training programmes to enable learners of all abilities to have the very best chance of success. We also work directly with local authorities to support young people who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP); we have had considerable success in this area.
We endeavour to meet
each learner’s individual needs in practical ways, enabling them to make
informed choices, try new activities and develop new skills while working in
small groups, or on a one-to-one basis.
At Beckton Skills
Centre, we reach out to young people struggling with traditional educational
settings. We understand the advantages of working outside of the classroom in
a real workshop, set in a quiet, green environment which is particularly
helpful for those learners who get tense in a formal learning environment.
Our training centre,
while conveniently located for both London Dockland Railway and Beckton bus
station, enjoys a quiet, green setting without distractions.
