Beckton Skills Centre’s anti-racism principles
Beckton Skills Centre requires all of our team members to act professionally at an organisational level to support us in delivering our anti-racist training culture.
In addition, we expect our learners to follow principles of anti-racism, which is a key point in our learners’ code of conduct
Through a process of continuous improvement, we will engage with a greater number of more young people who will be able to benefit from the educational opportunities that we are able to offer them, regardless of ethnicity.
As an anti-racist educator of young people we will:
- Listen to our learners and staff
- Support and encourage our learners and staff to speak up and speak out against racism
- Engage and involve people of all ethnicities in our decision making
- Strive to achieve equality of outcomes in all our learners and staff regardless of ethnicity
- Mitigate the impact of racism by adopting a positive action approach
As an anti-racist organisation we will also:
- Ensure that our anti-racist commitment and principles are applied across all areas and levels in the organisation
- Demonstrate our commitment to continually doing better by setting targets, striving towards achieving them and sharing our progress internally and externally
- Support and collaborate with all our stakeholders, making positive changes in all we do
- Continue to learn, evolve and demonstrate our principle of improvement.
- Ensure that our anti-racist commitment and principles are applied across all areas and levels in the organisation
